PF Account Update: EPFO has changed the rules for updating information in the PF account. Now it has become easier than before to correct and update your details like name, and date of birth, but at the same time, some important documents will also have to be given. Let us know how you can change the information in your PF account.
EPFO issued new guidelines
EPFO has issued a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guideline to correct personal information like name, date of birth, etc. Under this, SOP version 3.0 has been approved to update the profile of the members.
Now after this new rule, documents will have to be given for update or correction in the UAN profile. Also, you can apply by giving a declaration form.
EPFO has stated in its guidelines that it is often seen that many types of mistakes are made, which people have a lot of trouble in correcting.
This problem occurs due to the non-updating of data. In such a situation, this guideline has been brought.
Different rules for two types of changes
According to the new updated guidelines, EPFO has divided into two option – major and minor. For minor changes, at least two important documents will have to be submitted with a joint declaration request.
At the same time, for major changes, at least three important documents will have to be submitted. In this, field offices have been asked to be more cautious in updating the profiles of the members, so that no mistake or fraud can happen.
At least three important documents will have to be submitted for major changes. Keep in mind that in case of changes related to Aadhaar, an Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar card linked to an active mobile number will be sufficient as a supporting document.
How many documents for which change
For minor changes, at least two documents from the list of documents are required. For major update, at least three documents.
Remember, members can submit joint declarations for correction through the e-Sewa portal. These changes can be made only in the data related to the EPF account maintained by the current employer.
The employer does not have the authority to make any changes in the EPF accounts of previous or other establishments.
