Alto K10: A major defect has been found in the country’s largest car company Maruti Suzuki India’s cheapest and entry level car Alto K10. The company said that a defect has been found in the steering gear box assembly of this small hatchback.

After which it has decided to recall 2,555 Alto K10. Maruti said in an exchange filing, “This is a very rare matter. This defect can affect the vehicle. Customers are being advised not to drive the car until this part is replaced.”

Maruti Suzuki said that the affected vehicle owners will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshops for inspection and replacement of the part. No money will be charged from the customers for this work.

Alto K10 Features

Talking about features, then it has a 7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. The company has already provided this infotainment system in S-Preso, Celerio and Wagon-R.

This infotainment system supports Apple Car Play, Android Auto as well as USB, Bluetooth and AUX cable. The steering wheel has also been redesigned. In this, the infotainment system has a mounted control on the steering itself.

Alto K10 Engine

Talking about its engine, then this hatchback has a new-gen K-series 1.0L dual jet, dual VVT engine. This engine generates power of 49kW (66.62PS) @ 5500rpm and maximum torque at 89Nm @ 3500rpm. The company claims that its automatic variant will give a mileage of 24.90 km/l and manual variant 24.39 km/l.
