Basalt Coupe SUV: Citroen India has launched its first Basalt Coupe SUV in the Indian market. The delivery of Basalt will start in September. The Basalt SUV will compete directly with the Tata Curve. However, the company has not yet announced the prices of the Curve.

Basalt Coupe SUV Design

Talking about design, then the front end of the Basalt is quite similar to the Citroen C3 Aircross, with which it shares its underpinnings. It gets similarly styled DRLs, headlamp cluster, grille and the placement of the air intakes at the front is also similar. The design of the Basalt is clear from the side, as it has a coupe roofline that slopes down from the B-pillar to a high deck lid with an inbuilt spoiler lip. It rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Basalt Coupe SUV Features

Talking about its Features, its layout is similar to the C3 Aircross, in which elements like its dashboard design and 10.25-inch central touchscreen have been taken. Unlike the Aircross, it gets a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument display. It has adjustable under-thigh support for the rear seats. The Basalt also has a 15-watt wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and connected car technology.

Basalt Coupe SUV Engine

Talking about its engine, then it has two petrol engine options. The first is a naturally aspirated 1.2 liter petrol engine, which gives 81 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. It is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Basalt also gets the option of a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which comes with 108 bhp and 195 Nm. It comes with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Basalt Coupe SUV Price

Talking about its price, then the company has fixed its starting ex-showroom price at Rs 7.99 lakh. However, this is an introductory price, which will be applicable only on bookings received till October 31. After this, the prices will be changed. The company has not yet announced the variant-wise prices.

Basalt Coupe SUV Color option

Talking about the color option, it will get 5 single-tone options, which include Polar White, Steel Gray, Platinum Gray, Garnet Red and Cosmo Blue. White and red color roof will also be available in these. All its variants and their prices will be announced in the coming days. In India, it will compete with models like Tata Curve, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta.
