Toyota Rumion: Suzuki and Toyota are continuously sharing their vehicle platforms with each other under an agreement. Recently, Maruti Suzuki launched its most expensive car Maruti Invicto, which is based on Toyota’s Innova Hycross.

Now Toyota is also going to launch an affordable 7-seater MPV car, which will be based on Maruti Suzuki’s famous model Ertiga. It is being told that the company has named this upcoming car as Toyota Rumion and it will be launched for sale in the month of September.

According to Autocar’s report, Toyota is preparing to launch its new MPV Rumion in the market. Let us tell you that Toyota already sells Rumion in global markets like South Africa. Which is supplied by Maruti Suzuki, now there is a plan to launch it in the Indian market as well. In the global market, it is considered as a better family MPV.

After the launch of Toyota Rumion, it will be the fourth MPV from Toyota in the Indian market. Till now the company sells models like Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Vellfire. The company introduced this MPV in the South African market in October 2021 and at the same time got this nameplate trademarked in India as well. This will be Toyota’s cheapest MPV.

How will the Rumion be:

The company can make basic changes in this MPV based on Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and make its look and design different. Although the model available in the global market is quite similar to Ertiga, but in the market here it will be introduced with a new look. The model sold in the global market has an all black interior, whereas here Ertiga has a beige color interior. It is possible that a similar cabin can be seen in Rumion as well.

A 1.5 liter petrol engine will be used in this car, which generates 103hp of power and 137Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It is possible that Toyota will later introduce this car in a CNG variant as well, for now it will be launched in the market only with a petrol engine. Now it will be interesting to see what price Toyota decides for this car.
