September could prove to be an exciting month for those looking to buy a new SUV. At least 6 new vehicle launches including SUVs, MPVs and EVs are expected in the month when the festive season officially begins in India.
From mass market cars like the Honda Elevate SUV to luxury electric vehicles like the Volvo C40 Recharge or the Mercedes Benz EQE – there will be something for every segment in September. Here we are telling you about the cars launching in India in September.
Honda Elevate SUV
Honda Cars India has already started booking for the Honda Elevate SUV. It is the only SUV offered in its lineup in India. The Elevate SUV will be offered in four variants – SV, V, VX and ZX. The Elevate SUV will come with a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine, which is also used for the Honda City sedan.
This engine generates 119 bhp of power and 145.1 Nm of torque. The engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and gets the option of an advanced CVT.
The SUV will be offered with 7 single color options – Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Phoenix Orange Pearl.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV
The Volvo C40 Recharge EV is set to launch next week. This will make it the brand’s second full-electric offering in the country after the XC40 Recharge EV. Equipped with a 78 kWh battery pack, the C40 Recharge can generate a maximum power of 402 bhp and a maximum torque of 660 Nm.
The carmaker says that the electric SUV can cover a distance of up to 530 km on a single full charge. The claimed range is as per the global WLTP standard, and could be higher in Indian conditions.
Tata Nexon Facelift SUV
One of the best-selling SUVs in India, the Tata Nexon will soon be seen in a new avatar. The carmaker is developing a facelift version of the SUV which will be inspired by the Curvv concept introduced earlier by Tata Motors.
The Tata Nexon facelift SUV will come with a split headlamp setup and more changes to the exterior. The interior will be updated with a new and larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that was recently introduced in the Harrier and Safari. Like the Nexon, it is likely to be offered with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
Tata Nexon EV Facelift
India’s best-selling electric vehicle Nexon EV will also be launched on the same day as its ICE version. In terms of updates, the Tata Nexon EV Facelift is expected to get the same design and interior updates as the Nexon facelift SUV.
However, there is no possibility of any change in the powertrain of the electric SUV. The Nexon EV currently comes with two battery options that offer a range between 312 km and 453 km.
