The weather forecast indicates that the monsoon rains have disrupted life in most parts of India, causing significant distress. Rains have caused havoc in the hilly areas of North India. IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain for the next few days, advising people to stay indoors to avoid lightning. Gujarat has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms over the next two days. On Wednesday, heavy rain is expected in western Rajasthan and Andaman Nicobar Islands, and on Thursday, in western Rajasthan, Kerala, and Odisha.

We have issued an orange alert due to the possibility of rain here. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh have also received a warning of heavy rain. Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha have issued a warning of heavy rain. In addition, 22 states, including Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, and most parts of Kerala, anticipate torrential rain. This warning encompasses all the Northeastern states.

Floods wreak havoc in Tripura

Monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in Tripura, resulting in numerous fatalities from flooding. In addition to this, flood water entering residential areas has rendered about 1.25 lakh people homeless. The government has shifted them to safer places.

Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the Center will dispatch a team to evaluate the flood-related damage in the state. The natural disaster has affected about 17 lakh people in the state. Simultaneously, heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh triggered landslide incidents, leading to the closure of approximately 125 roads. The passersby are facing difficulties in reaching regular distances.
