Suspense over the Indian team going to Pakistan widened, after the former Pakistan’s leg spinner Danish kaneriya said in an interview that the Indian team should not go to Pakistan for the champions trophy 2025. Amid political tensions between the countries India has not travelled to the neighbouring country for the 2023 Asia Cup hence the tournament was held in a hybrid model co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

“The safety of the players is the first priority. Respect is the second priority. I think BCCI is doing a great job. Whatever their decision is, other countries will also have to accept that. I think it will be a hybrid model” Danish Kaneriya said in an interview.

Paksiatan need to improve its infrastructure

Sparking a yet another controversy, kaneriya said that paksiatan vulnerable economy is affecting the cricket of the nation too. Pakistan infrastructure for cricket is not as per the mark and the nation needs to improve it. There have been investments from the Pakistan Cricket Board to improve the infrastructure and upgrade the stadiums to host the games of the Champions Trophy.

Security is the biggest concern

Danish Kaneriya also questioned the security of pakistan. He said, “after the srilankan team incident in Pakistan even today many players are afraid in coming to Pakistan. So according to my point of view, security is the biggest concern.

It is noticeable that PCB has approved the upgradation of cricket stadiums in Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Karachi and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium which are the three venues selected for hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 from February March 9.
