The 7th Pay Commission is expected to significantly increase the salary of central employees, which is a welcome development in the current era of inflation. The government will soon increase the dearness allowance (DA) by 4 percent. This increase will significantly reduce inflation. The Modi government has already inflicted a significant shock on employees and pensioners due to the 18-month delay in DA arrears.

The government has explicitly stated that the employees will not receive the DA benefit, which comes as a significant surprise. The employees were demanding this for a long time, but now the situation has become absolutely clear. How much will the salary increase after the increase in dearness allowance? All this can be understood through calculation. Official statements remain silent regarding the amount and timing of the employees’ Dearness Allowance (DA) increase. According to media reports, the increase is expected to occur until the last week of September.

The Dearness allowance will increase by this amount.

The DA for central employees is set to increase by 4 percent, with a subsequent increase to 54 percent. This will lead to a record-breaking increase in salary. In the current situation, central employees receive 50 percent DA. If there is an increase now, it will benefit more than 1 crore families and will be considered a booster dose.

If an employee’s salary is Rs 40000, there will be an increase of about Rs 1600, according to the 4 percent DA. This means that there will be an increase of approximately Rs 19,200, which is equivalent to a significant gift. If the salary of a central employee is Rs 60 thousand, then according to 4 percent DA, there will be an increase of Rs 2400. This will result in an annual salary increase of approximately Rs 28,000 for the employees. This amount will be like a booster dose.

Shock on 8th Pay Commission

While the central employees are expected to receive positive news regarding Dearness Allowance (DA), there will also be a significant shock. The central government has already refused to form the 8th Pay Commission. Apart from this, the government has also clearly refused to give DA arrears of 18 months.

Both of these decisions made by the central government are widely regarded as significant failures. For your information, the central government announces an increase in the dearness allowance every six months. The rates go into effect on 1 January and 1 July respectively. Any increase in DA will take effect from 1 July.
