DA Hike: The 7th Pay Commission Dearness Allowance (DA) Hike could be another positive development for central employees in September 2024. This month, there is a possibility of an increase in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees.

It is expected that the government may announce a 3-4 percent DA hike in the third week of September. But according to the latest reports, the DA hike will not be announced in September, but it may come into effect from October. However, officially no information has been shared by the government regarding the DA hike.

DA expected to increase by 3-4 percent

The government may increase the dearness allowance by 3-4 percent in the third week of September. We have confirmed the 3 percent increase, but we also have the option to increase it to 4 percent.

If media reports are to be believed, earlier in March 2024, the government had increased the DA by 4 percent to 50 percent of the basic pay. Central employees receive Dearness Allowance (DA), while pensioners receive Dearness Relief (DR).

Reports suggest that central government employees and pensioners might have to wait longer for their dearness allowance. There were reports regarding the announcement of DA that it could be implemented from September. But, now employees may have to wait for one more month.

Sources indicate that the likelihood of receiving an update on DA this month is slightly reduced. For this, one will have to wait till Diwali. There is a possibility that the government will disclose information about DA before the festival.

What is DA?

DA means Dearness Allowance, also known as Dearness Allowance. Both government and non-government employees receive this amount. In light of rising inflation, the government has given employees the gift of DA. Along with the basic salary, other amounts, such as house rent allowance, are also added to the DA, after which the salary is formed.
