The 7th Pay Commission DA Hike: The good news that the central employees were expecting soon has come as a big shock. The central government has decided not to increase the dearness allowance (DA) in September, which will come as a significant shock. The government plans to increase the DA, but not in September. The government is going to give this gift before Diwali, i.e., in the last week of October.
The government will raise the DA as a Diwali gift. It is believed that the DA will increase by approximately 4 percent. Following this, the employees’ salaries will experience a significant rise, equivalent to a boost in inflation. Last year, on September 28, the government increased DA by 4 percent, equivalent to a booster dose. The government has not officially announced the date for the DA increase. According to media reports, it was before Diwali.

What does DA mean?
The DA that government employees receive is known as Dearness Allowance. Government and non-government employees receive this amount to control inflation. In response to rising inflation, the government has made arrangements to increase the dearness allowance. The government increases it once every six months.
Employees receive a fixed basic salary, which leads to a significant increase in their pay. In addition to the basic salary, DA also includes other amounts such as house rent allowance. In India, more than one crore employees and pensioners benefit from DA.
How much will the DA be?
If the Modi government increases the dearness allowance by 4 percent, then it will be positive news. The dearness allowance (DA) will rise to 54 percent, leading to a significant increase in the salary. Currently, employees are receiving a 50 percent DA. The Seventh Pay Commission reports twice-yearly increases in DA.
Its rates are considered effective from January 1 and July 1. If we increase DA now, it will take effect from July 1, 2024, making it a significant gift. If the salary of a central employee is 50 thousand, then at the rate of 4 percent DA, there will be an increase of Rs 2,000 per month. Each year, Rs 24,000 will increase.
