LPG Cylinder Subsidy Scheme 2024: The Rajasthan government has launched a new scheme in the interest of its citizens. This is the LPG Cylinder Subsidy Scheme 2024. The main objective of this scheme is to provide cooking gas to poor and middle class families at affordable rates. Under this scheme, which was come into effect from September 1, 2024, eligible families will get LPG gas cylinder for just Rs 450.

Eligibility Criteria

People of the following categorie are eligible for the scheme:

1. Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

2. Selected BPL [Below Poverty Line] families

3. NFSA beneficiaries of Rajasthan

Required Documents and Procedure

To avail the scheme, beneficiaries have to keep in mind the following things:

1. There should be an gas connection on the name of beneficiary.

2. It is mandatory to complete e-KYC.

3. Ration Card has to be linked with LPG I’d and Janadhaar.

4. Bank account should be linked with aadhar card and mobile number.

The government has taken several steps for smooth operations for this scheme:

1. Registration is being done through POS machine at e-Mitra centers and fair rate shops.

2. Beneficiaries have to pay the full amount first, then the subsidy amount will be sent to their bank account.

3. Gas companies will keep the information of beneficiaries’ bank accounts updated.

Impact of the scheme

About 68 lakh families of Rajasthan are expected to benefit from this scheme. This will put an additional financial burden of about Rs 200 crore annually on the state government. But this step will provide great relief to the poor and middle class families.
