Health insurance : Health insurance claims can now be settled as soon as possible. To achieve this objective, the Union Health Ministry has prepared a single portal. Insurance companies and hospitals are also joining this portal. After it is fully operational, the mediclaim of those taking health insurance policies will be settled soon.

Pilot project is starting

The Health Ministry of the Central Government is going to start the pilot of this project soon. It is being told that so far about 35 insurance companies have joined this project and big hospitals are also going to join soon. After this the trial will start. Patients, insurance companies and hospitals will all benefit from this portal.

Now one has to wait long

Right now patients have to wait a long time for the settlement of health insurance claims. Whether the patient is admitted in the hospital or has applied for an insurance claim, it takes a long time to get the claim. But now all the big insurance companies and big hospitals will be on the same platform and the claim will be settled in a few hours. All hospitals and insurance companies will be on the same platform and will investigate on the same platform and this will speed up the process. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) also wants that there should not be much delay in the settlement of insurance claims.

Link to implement digital initiative

This is another step being taken in the chain of implementing India’s digital initiative in the field of health. Union Health Secretary Apoorva Chandra said that there has been a lot of discussion on India’s digital system in the field of health in the World Health Assembly as well. Other countries have been told about the adoption of digital health transactions in the country and digitization of patients’ health records.

Prevention of non-communicable diseases is a challenge

He said that prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is now a challenge for the world. The good thing is that more than 100 countries agree that spending on prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases should be increased. Non-communicable diseases include diseases like heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and diabetes. At the same time, mental health is also becoming a challenge. Amidst the increasing stress, the Health Assembly has agreed to take new initiatives regarding the mental health of the people.
