Lakhpati Didi Yojana is an ambitious initiative of the Central Government for the economic empowerment of rural women.
It was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 77th Independence Day. The scheme aims to make more than 3 crore women financially strong.
How to achieve the goal of becoming Lakhpati Didi
The main objective of Lakhpati Didi Yojana is to ensure that rural women earn at least ₹ 1 lakh every year. Under this scheme, women will be assessed on 5 points to become “Lakhpati”.
Every Didi will be helped to start at least 3-4 livelihood activities, especially from agricultural and non-agricultural sectors.

This scheme not only aims to make every Didi an entrepreneur but also provides financial assistance to women like getting loans from the bank and loan waivers. The scheme also focuses on digital financial inclusion.
Linkage to the world market
Under the Lakhpati Didi scheme, assistance is provided to connect the products made by Didi to the global value chain and access domestic and foreign markets.
Also, technical and financial services are provided in coordination with more than 20 ministries and departments.
Training and assistance
Under this scheme, beneficiary women will be given full-time training for livelihood activities. Apart from this, support from more than 20 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community assistants will also be given.
Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, attention will also be given to increasing the income of Didi.
