Update on the 7th Pay Commission DA Hike: Following the success of the UPS scheme, central employees could potentially receive another significant boost this month. The central government can announce an increase in dearness allowance (DA) any day, which will be like a big gift. It is believed that by increasing DA, the government will provide positive news to more than 1 crore employees and pensioners.

The Modi government, however, has declared that it will not implement the 8th pay. Everyone is now eagerly anticipating the announcement of a dearness allowance increase. Sources indicate that the government could announce the increase in Dearness Allowance at any time until October 5. The government has yet to disclose the extent of the DA increase. Although the government has not yet officially announced this, media reports suggest that it will happen soon.

How much will the dearness allowance increase?

Announcing the DA increase by September 15 would be a significant gift. It is believed that more than 1 crore families will benefit from this. We can announce a 4% increase in the Direct Benefit (DA) for employees. After this, the DA will increase to 54%, resulting in a significant increase in salary.

You won’t have to wait long for this good news. In view of the Haryana assembly elections, the government is going to give this good news in advance of the Haryana assembly elections. If the government decides to make this announcement in September, it could lead to a salary increase for both employees and pensioners in October. This means that employees are likely to get arrears of 3 months from July to September.

Central employees protest against UPS

The central government has given a green signal to UPS instead of OPS. This agreement includes a provision for employees to receive a 50 percent pension of their salary upon retirement. The employee must serve for 25 years to qualify for the pension. If they fail to serve for so many years, then the benefit of a 50 percent pension will not be available. Moreover, the government will provide subsidies such as the recently raised National Provident Fund. Employees are continuously protesting against it and demanding OPS restoration.
