iQOO has launched another power-packed performer in the form of the iQOO 12 as it races to be one of the first brands to adopt Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It will be the first to bring the chipset to India.

The iQOO 12 has been launched in China with a pretty impressive specifications list and we’ve noted down all that’s new compared to the iQOO 11 in this feature.

iQOO 12 vs iQOO 11: Display and Design

Compared to the iQOO 11, the new iQOO 12 features a slightly lower resolution display but with thinner bezels. Both phones feature a flat glass on the front and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The stereo speakers also have a more balanced output.

The new display however has a 3,000 nits peak brightness, up from 1,800 nits on the iQOO 11. The PWM has also been improved to 2,160Hz from 1,440Hz. The major refresh in the iQOO 12 is its design which now features flat sides and a new camera module. The phone is also slimmer and lighter at 8.1mm and 198g.

iQOO 12 vs iQOO 11: Performance

iQOO continues its streak of being one of the first adopters of the latest Snapdragon chipset with the iQOO 11 which comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

This processor has a peak clock speed of 3.3GHz and a new Adreno 750 GPU. Qualcomm has promised an efficient and powerful performance which should lead to better gaming performance.

iQOO has also added a self-developed Q1 chip in the iQOO 12 for improved gaming capabilities instead of using Vivo’s V2 chip from the iQOO 11. The VC cooling system is also 40 percent larger on the iQOO 12.

The chip position has been adjusted to keep your fingers cool during gameplay as the heat dissipation now happens more efficiently through the middle of the metal frame. LPDDR5X RAM and UFS4.0 storage types are present in both phones.

iQOO 12 vs iQOO 11: Camera

A major upgrade in the iQOO 12 is its new main camera setup. The 50MP main camera sensor is the VCS OV50H with a 1/1.3-inch sensor size and better f/1.68 aperture.

A 13MP portrait camera has been replaced by a 64MP telephoto which allows up to 100X zoom compared to 20X earlier.

Another major improvement here is the 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture compared to an 8MP one earlier. The 16MP front camera however remains the same.

iQOO 12 vs iQOO 11: Battery and Charging

The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is more efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Even with the same 5,000mAh capacity, the new battery pack tech also allows the iQOO 12 to deliver 9 percent better battery life. Both phones can charge at the same 120W speed.

iQOO 12 vs iQOO 11: Availability and India launch

The iQOO 12 is more affordable in its domestic market, China, as the phone now starts at CNY 3,999 with 12/256GB variant whereas the iQOO 11 was priced at CNY 4,399 for the same. The sales will begin on November 16th in the country.

For India, the iQOO 12 will make its way to the country on December 12th, as confirmed by the brand. It would be wise to note that there are no indications of the Pro model coming to the Indian market. It will also be the first device to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the country.
