According to reports, the UP government can increase the dearness allowance (DA) by 4 percent. Along with this, there is also a possibility of giving bonuses to non-gazetted employees. The dearness allowance will be increased soon. According to sources, UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s state government will only announce the increase in dearness allowance after the central government approves it. However, the UP CM has not issued any official information yet.

We expect the central government to announce the increase in dearness allowance in the last week of September or the first week of October. This increase in the dearness allowance could benefit about eight lakh state government employees. However, this move will put an additional burden of about Rs 3,000 crore on the state government Treasury.

Every decade, the government calls for and implements the Pay Commission. In such a situation, we expect the central government to implement the Eighth Pay Commission very soon.
