Before the IPL 2025 auction, the BCCI board gave tremendous news to cricket fans, which has made millions of fans happy. The BCCI has announced a new rule for the uncapped category.

The BCCI made an official announcement on Saturday. It said that a capped Indian player will become uncapped if he has not been in the playing eleven in international cricket, such as Test matches, ODIs, and T20s, for five years before the IPL season or if he does not have a central contract with the BCCI.

At present, this rule is valid only for Indian players, and international players have been excluded. This rule was also in place earlier, but it was removed immediately after the 2021 IPL. However, it has been implemented once again, and the effect is visible to cricket fans.

Ms Dhoni will get a chance to play under the uncapped category to see new enthusiasm from MS Dhoni’s fans. MS Dhoni last played an international match in 2019, so he has become eligible to play in the IPL according to this rule.

Cricket fans feel that the IPL will feel incomplete without Dhoni, which is why the BCCI changed the rules just before the IPL 2025 auction.

Due to the change in the rules of the BCCI’s uncapped category, the Chennai Super Kings franchise will now be able to keep MS Dhoni associated with it, and that too without using any capped player.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India recently announced the rules for the IPL auction on Sunday. According to these rules, each team can now retain a maximum of 6 players along with the option of Right to Match.

Due to the permission to retain a total of 6 players along with RTM, all the teams can decide to choose their coordinator. According to the report, out of 6 retention players, a maximum of 5 capped players and two uncapped players are allowed.
