Hornet 160R: Honda showcased the new CB Hornet 160R bike at the 2018 Auto Expo held this year. This updated motorcycle has now been launched in India. Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 84,675. Its four variants will be available in the market. This is the second Honda bike in the 160cc segment this year after the X Blade.

New features have been added to the updated Honda CB Hornet 160R bike. Now ABS i.e. Anti-Locking Braking System has also been given as an optional feature in the bike. Visually, the motorcycle looks similar to the previous model. However, it has been given new body graphics and color options which give it a refreshed look. The new Honda Hornet 160R bike has an LED headlamp which looks similar to the Honda X Blade.

Engine, Power and Specifications

The new Hornet 160R has a fully digital console. It has a 162.7 cc single cylinder, air cooled engine. This engine can generate a maximum power of 14.9 bhp and a torque of 14.5 Newton meters. The engine is equipped with a 5 speed transmission. Telescopic front forks and monoshock absorbers have been kept the same.

Both wheels equipped with petal disc brakes

For the first time in this model, both wheels have been equipped with petal disc brakes. Honda is also offering ABS as an option. Suzuki Gixxer SF already offers ABS but it is a full faired bike whereas Hornet does not. Honda has provided drum brakes in the base version but CBS can be available in it as an optional feature.

Will compete with Apache, Pulsar bikes

The new Honda Hornet will compete with bikes like Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar 160 and Yamaha FZ-S FI in India.Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 84,675.
