7th Pay Commission update: Central employees and pensioners will be very happy because the central government will increase the dearness allowance (DA) soon. After this, there will be a record-breaking increase in the salary of central employees, which is like a golden offer. It is believed that the central government can increase the dearness allowance by 3 per cent, which will prove like a booster dose.

After this, central employees will get bumper benefits. If the government increases the DA, its rates will be considered effective from July 1, 2024, which will be like a gift for everyone. The government is expected to do this blast before Dhanteras and Diwali. The date of increasing DA has not been confirmed yet, but media reports are claiming till October 20.

How much will the dearness allowance increase?

If the central government increases the dearness allowance, i.e. DA, by 3 per cent, it will increase to 53 per cent. Central employees are currently receiving 50 per cent DA. About one crore families are going to benefit from it. The increased DA rates will be implemented from July 1, 2024.

Earlier, the DA hike was announced in March, and since then, everyone has been eagerly waiting for the DA hike for the next half year. As per the Seventh Pay Commission rules, a decision is taken to increase DA twice a year. Its rates are applicable from January 1 and July 1. Earlier, the government refused to give DA arrears of 18 months. Not only this, the government has also provided a significant blow to the 8th Pay Commission.

During COVID-19, the government did not release DA arrears from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. Since then, the employees have been continuously demanding.
