According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon has departed from Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, half of Madhya Pradesh, but the process of rain is still going on in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and north-eastern states. Monsoon may depart by October 15.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected today in the Western Himalayas, Bihar and Eastern Madhya Pradesh.

IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in various areas for seven days. According to the Meteorological Department, a warning about heavy rain has been issued in the coastal regions of Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karnataka. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in Tamil Nadu between October 12-14 and Kerala on October 12-13. Sporadic rains in Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura may occur during October 9-11.
