Sanju Samson again bounced back, this time against Bangladesh. He scored an aggressive century toying with the opponent bowlers. Even in the ‘nervous 90s’, Sanju showed no signs to slow down his strike rate. Samson scored 111 runs with just 47 balls, hit 11 boundaries, and 8 over boundaries with a strike rate of 236.17.
“Basically, very happy, out of words, very emotional, very grateful to God that it has happened. Everyone has his own time,” Samson said to Suryakumar Yadav in a video shared by BCCI. Sanju further added, “The team atmosphere and the environment which we have created in these many weeks… The message is, Go be aggressive and humble. These are the two words that our captain and coach keep reminding us. So, I think that suits my nature, my character, so I just kept on going for it.”
Sanju Samson’s century against Bangladesh was a standout performance that showcased his immense talent and versatility as a batsman. Playing in a limited-overs match, Samson displayed his ability to pace the innings while executing a wide array of strokes. His innings were a mix of calculated aggression and solid technique, as he expertly manoeuvred the ball around the field and capitalised on scoring opportunities.
Facing a challenging Bangladesh bowling attack, Samson’s century came at a crucial time when the Indian team needed stability and quick runs. His ability to rotate the strike and find boundaries kept the scoreboard ticking, preventing the opposition from building pressure. With clean hitting, particularly through cover drives and pull shots, Samson reached his century in style, solidifying his place as one of Indiaโs promising middle-order options in limited-overs cricket.
