India facing trouble afte trouble in Bengaluru in the first test match of the ongoing series against New Zealand. After the first day was washed in rain, Team India came out to bat on the second day and able to put only 46 runs on scoreboard. This is the one of the lowest innings total by any home team in the history of test cricket; team India touched new low on Thursday. After this, Team India suffered a big blow 13 overs before the end of the day’s play when the team’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was injured.

Pant suffered a knee injury and he staggered off the field. After Pant’s exit, Dhruv Jurel came to the field for wicketkeeping. After the end of the day’s play, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has given a big update about Rishabh Pant’s injury. Rohit said that Pant was hit by the ball on the same knee which had surgery after the road accident. This is the reason why Pant was seen groaning with pain after the ball. This incident happened in the 37th over of New Zealand’s first innings, the ball went straight to hit his knee. He soon walked off the field limping and was replaced by Dhruv Jurel.

Rohit told in the press conference after the end of the day’s play that the ball hit Pant directly on the knee, on the same leg for which he has undergone surgery. So, his knee is slightly swollen and the muscles are quite weak at the moment. That is why it was decided to send Pant off the field as a precaution. He said the team didn’t want to take any risk as Pant had undergone a major surgery on his leg. So, he needed to leave the field.

It is worth noting that by the end of the second day’s play, the visiting Kiwi team has put 180 runs on the scoreboard for 3 wickets. New Zealand have taken a lead of 134 runs on India. Now on the third day, the eyes of Indian bowlers will be on making New Zealand all out as soon as possible.
