Toyota may have some plans to bring something for the Indian market. Nowadays, there is lots of enthusiasm about SUVs and off-road segment cars. Mahindra Scorpio, a powerful SUV with plenty of features, is already a legendary name in the Indian automobile sector. Mahindra Thar became hit in the market as soon as it launched in the market. Suzuki launched Jimny to make a mark in the same segment, targeting the customers who would like to off-road. Toyota has its own beast machine, the Toyota Fortuner.
The Toyota Fortuner is not a pocket friendly option for many Indians. The Indian market has always had demand for cars with many features and a lower price. So, Toyota can bring something between the full-size SUV and micro SUV segment. If we believe in rumours, the Japanese automobile company is going to introduce the Toyota Mini Fortuner with 4×4 capabilities.
According to ongoing speculations, this new SUV will be designed keeping in mind Toyota’s traditional strong off-road capabilities, with high ground clearance and rugged looks. It is expected to launch with petrol and strong hybrid variants, which could have a 2.0-litre petrol engine and hybrid system like the Innova Hycross.
An all-electric variant could also be introduced in the future, although diesel variants are unlikely. It is also believed This new mini Fortuner from Toyota will be ready for production from 2027 at the company’s new Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar plant. The new SUV will be priced lower than the Fortuner so that it can emerge as an affordable option against the Mahindra Scorpio N and Thar Roxx. But, there are no clear confirmation from any source or company yet not make any announcement about Toyota Mini Fortuner.
If Toyota bring a new version of Fortuner, then it will directly compete with Mahindra Scorpio, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Thar, Mahindra Thar ROXX, TATA Nexon, TATA Harrier and with other available SUVs in the market.
