Virat Kohli again proved his haters wrong by playing a necessary 70-run innings against New Zealand in Bengaluru. Virat has many records below his belt; with the help of seventy runs, he touched another milestone in international cricket. Despite missing the century, he has attached a huge record with his name at number 3 position in all formats of international cricket.

Former India captain Virat Kohli has created history in international cricket. In the first Test against New Zealand, Kohli was dismissed for 70 runs in the second innings. Even though Kohli missed the century, he has succeeded in making a big record in his name. Virat has completed 9000 runs in Test cricket, on the other hand, he managed to complete 15,000 runs at number 3 in international cricket.

Kohli is the only batsman in the India to score 15000 runs while batting at number three in international cricket. No Indian batsman has been able to do such a feat in international cricket to India. In international cricket, Kohli has scored 15028 runs so far batting at number 3. Kohli batted in 5 innings batting at number 3 in Tests and has scored a total of 167 runs. In one day international cricket format, he has a total of 11785 runs in 228 innings at number three position. In T20 International, he has scored 3076 runs in 80 innings.

Australia cricket legend and former captain Ricky Ponting is the highest run scorer at number three in international cricket. Ponting has scored 2,2869 runs in his international career at number 3. Ponting has done an amazing job of scoring 22869 runs by playing 540 innings at number 3. In Tests, Ponting has played a total of 196 innings at number 3 and has managed to score 9904 runs. Apart from this, Ponting has played 14 innings at number 3 in T20 International and has scored 303 runs.

Kohli was dismissed on the last ball of the third day’s play against New Zealand. Virat scored his last century in Tests against l West Indies played in Trinidad in 2023. Since then, Kohli has not been able to score a century in Tests.
