DA Hike: The central government had recently increased the dearness allowance by 3%. It will be effective from July 1, 2024. More than one crore employees and pensioners will receive benefits before Diwali.

The government had announced an increase in the dearness allowance of 1.80 state employees. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has said in a statement that all the state boards and corporations have been asked to release the salary and pension of all former and present employees on October 28, three days before Diwali. This government decision will benefit about 50,000 employees and pensioners of all boards and corporations. The announcement was made after the Himachal Pradesh CM met a delegation of the State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB), which handed over a cheque of Rs 2 crore to him for the CM Relief Fund.
4% increase in DA of employees
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced the release of an additional 4% dearness allowance (DA) to all government employees from January 1, 2023. He said the pending arrears under the Sixth Pay Commission will also be released to all HPSPCB employees.
Let us tell you that with this government decision, a total of Rs 202 crore will be spent on salary and pension arrears in this financial year. At the same time, an additional instalment of Rs 20,000 of the outstanding amount will be released for Class IV government employees.
The central government has announced a 3 per cent increase in the dearness allowance of its employees, after which it has increased to 53 per cent. The increased DA will be applicable from July 1, 2024. Along with this, they will also get three months’ arrears.
