Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has claimed that he is fully fit. Before the tour of Australia, he wants to prepare himself by playing one or two matches in the Ranji Trophy.

Shami has been battling an ankle injury since the 2023 ODI World Cup. After the World Cup, it was known how serious his injury was. Shami has gradually regained his fitness after the surgery and hopes to return to the national team again.

Mohammed Shami bowled for an hour and a half after India’s defeat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. Shami looked quite confident about his bowling. This is the first time he has bowled with a full run-up after recovering from injury.

“I am very happy with how I bowled yesterday. I was bowling from half run-up before that because I didn’t want to take too much load. But yesterday, I decided to go full tilt, and I bowled at 100 percent,” Mohammed Shami said.

“The result was good. I am 100 per cent pain-free. Everyone has been wondering for a long time about whether I will make it for the Australia series, but it is still some time away,”

Shami underwent a knee surgery in February this year. Since then, there has been speculation about him. Cricket fans are constantly curious about when Shami will return to the field. India’s Border Gavaskar series against Australia will begin on November 22. Shami has one month left.

Before making comeback to Team India, Shami wants to prepare himself through some domestic matches, “The only thing on my mind is to ensure that I am fit and how strong I can be for the Australia series. I can see what kind of attack we need in Australia. I have to spend more time on the ground. I want to play a couple of (Ranji Trophy) matches before I go.”
