Honda has informed about the launch of its first electric scooter in India.
Recent reports have revealed that Honda has started two manufacturing lines in its Gujarat and Karnataka plants due to the increasing demand. Apart from this, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India are also preparing its Karnataka plant for electric scooters.
Let us tell you that its production can start in December 2024, while by the beginning of 2025, the company will have launched its first electric scooter. There is a big possibility that Honda’s first electric scooter will be Activa Electric.
How will Activa Electric be?
Reports have revealed that the Activa Electric scooter will initially be introduced only as an entry into the EV market. This will be an electric version of the Honda Activa with minor changes, and it will not be built on a dedicated EV platform.
Overall, Activa Electric will not have any attractive factor in terms of competition. It is expected to get a fixed battery pack, and its top speed will be around 50 km/h. It will compete with brands like Ola Electric and Ather Energy in India.
