BCCI, Mohammed Shami: India is scheduled to tour Australia for the prestigious Border Gavaskar Trophy after the New Zealand series. BCCI has already announced the squad for the five match test series in the land of kangaroos.

This time young players like Harshit Rana, Nitish Reddy and Abhimanyu Easwaran have got a chance in the squad. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami have not been included in Team India for this series. Kuldeep has suffered a back injury, Shami has not been able to prove his fitness yet. The BCCI has not given any update about Shami.

According to recent reports, Shami still has a chance to make it to the team. According to a ‘CricTracker’ report that the board will assess Shami’s performance during Bengal’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match and then decide on his inclusion in the team.

Shami apologized to his fans after not getting a place in the team in the Test series against Australia. He wrote on social media, “I am constantly trying with my bowling fitness. I am getting better every day. I will continue to work hard to get ready for the match and play domestic cricket. Apologies to all the cricket fans and the BCCI, but very soon I will be ready to play red ball cricket… “
