Mayank Yadav Injury: The BCCI recently announced the Indian team for the T20I series against South Africa and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Many young cricketers have called up for these two series; on the other hand, some big names are missing due to injury concerns. One of them is Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) star bowler Mayank Yadav. According to the latest update, Yadav’s return is now full of uncertainty.

Injury concern for Mayank Yadav

Fast bowler Mayank Yadav, who made fans excited with his speed, was not selected for any upcoming series. He is out due to injury. The 22-year-old fast bowler is not only going to miss the upcoming Test series; he will not participate in the India vs. Australia Border Gavaskar Trophy, a five-match test series between these two nations.

How long will he be out of action?

Mayank Yadav caught everyone’s attention by taking six wickets in three T20 internationals in his brilliant debut series against Bangladesh. But the BCCI ignored him in the squad selected for South Africa, as he has suffered an injury again.

According to a report, Mayank Yadav has been ruled out of the team due to a back injury, which is different from the side strain that knocked him off the field after playing only 4 matches in IPL 2024. Earlier the plan was that he would play Ranji Trophy from the fourth or fifth round, but now those plans are also in doubt.

A BCCI official quoted in a media report that there was some problem in Yadav’s back. It can also be a case of stress fracture. According to the NCA (National Cricket Academy), he could have played in the fourth or fifth round of the Ranji Trophy, but now it is not yet confirmed. He’s out again for quite some time.Mayank’s personal coach, Devendra Sharma, said that he has been forbidden by the team management to play.

In such a situation, he may return to the ODI series against England in February. At the moment, he may return to the February 2025 ODI series against England.
