IPL 2025: All of the ten franchises have retained their players for the upcoming IPL 2025 Mega Auction. BCCI told that all franchises can retain upto Six players. Teams have announced their player retaintion lists on October 31 evening. The 10 teams have retained a total of 46 players. Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders have retained the maximum number of 6 players. One the other hand, Punjab Kings have kept only two players with them.
Among the retained players in the IPL, there are many names who were brought at team from auction house relatively at a low price. Now their price have increased at a high rate. In the 2022 auction, UP wicketkeeper- batsman Dhruv Jurel was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a base price of 20 lakhs. Now Jurel has been retained for 14 crores. His salary increased by 70 times. Jurel made his Test debut for India this year. He has also played T20 International and is part of Team India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Dhruv Jurel is not alone in the journey from lakh to crores. Mayank Yadav and Rajat Patidar played for Rs 20 lakh each last season. Now the franchise will pay Rs. 11 crores to both to play in IPL 2024. Mayank surprised everyone with his speed in the IPL. Patidar is the best middle-order batsman. Rinku Singh’s salary has also increased from 55 lakhs to 13 crores. Their increment has been more than 2200 percent.
It is not only the Indian players who have their luck open. South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs was bought by Delhi Capitals for 50 lakhs in last year’s auction. Now he has been retained for Rs 10 crore. Stubbs, who flopped for Mumbai Indians, scored 378 runs for Delhi last season at an average of 54 and a strike rate of 192. He has the power to play shots in every corner of the field.
