Things got more heated in Mumbai during the first day of the India vs. New Zealand (IND vs NZ 3rd Test) third Test match. The umpire took the matter seriously and continued the game without any complaints. Sarfaraz Khan was at the centre of all the drama that happened in Wankhede Stadium on Friday.

Umpire in serious mood

Umpire Richard Illingworth took that matter to his hand and warned Sarfaraz Khan. The umpire spoke to India Test team captain Rohit Sharma and informed him about a complaint he got from the opponent team, which caused the match to stop for a while.

What was the matter?

Sarfaraz Khan was speaking so much that the New Zealand batsmen started getting distracted. After this, Darrell Mitchell complained about him. Rohit Sharma defended Sarfaraz, and meanwhile Virat Kohli also joined the discussion. The Indian player was asked to reduce the conversation, especially when the ball is active. Rohit Sharma finished the matter and assured the umpire. After the discussion ended, he and Mitchell shook hands with each other.

Two Indians did their jobs well

In the third match, New Zealand batted first and struggled to get momentum at the beginning of their innings, all out for 232 runs in 65.4 overs. Two Indian spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, did their jobs well to prevent the opponent from scoring a big run. Experience Ravindra Jadeja has taken five wickets. On the other hand, Washington Sundar has taken 4 wickets. New Zealand’s batters find it difficult to play against these two bowlers.
