She said, “People think that I charge a huge amount for films like ‘Judwaa’ or ‘Dunky’, but the truth is something else. I get less money than films with lead roles, because in big films, the hero is the only one who matters.”

Her views on ‘Dunky’ and the actress’ fees

Rajkumar Hirani directed the film ‘Dunky’ in 2023, in which the actress collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan. She said iIn an interview, she revealed that producers, believing they are doing her a favour by giving her a chance in their film, underpay her despite working on big projects.

“People think that I get a decent amount for these films, but the truth is that I get more fees in films with lead roles. In some projects, the producers believe that just having a hero will make the film successful. This thinking challenges me every day.”

The actress also shared her opinion on the casting process of films in Bollywood. She said, “Even now in most films, the hero decides who will be his heroine. If the director of a film is well-known, successful, and has a dedicated audience, they will make the decision based on their personal preferences. Otherwise, the decision rests with the hero. This comment raised questions about the tradition in Bollywood, where the hero plays a major role in the selection of the film.
