Ahead of the festive season, the state government makes big decisions. Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department Minister Sumit Godara said that in order to provide support to women of needy families, LPG cylinders are being provided to Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and BPL category families at Rs 450. In view of the announcement of providing LPG cylinders at Rs 450 to all ration wheat receiving families, i.e., beneficiaries of NFSA, by expanding the scope of this scheme due to the initiative of the Prime Minister, provision has been made in the POS machine from the departmental level to provide gas cylinders for Rs 450 under the scheme by getting the LPG ID of NFSA families done. Seeding work through the POS machine located at a fair price shop has been developed.

For this, the entire ration wheat receiving families, i.e., beneficiary families of the National Food Security Scheme, should ensure seeding of their LPG ID through Fair Price Shop with ration card/Aadhaar card.

The seeding campaign starts on November 5

Principal Secretary Subir Kumar informed that under the LPG cylinder subsidy scheme, the provision of seeding of LPG IDs of eligible families of the National Food Security Scheme with Aadhaar/rration cards will be operated on a large scale campaign from November 5 to November 30, 2024, through POS machines located at fair price shops.

This will ensure that gas cylinders are available for Rs 450 under the scheme at the local level. Providing relief to such National Food Security Families or their members who have not been seeded of Aadhaar cards, provision has been made for Aadhaar number seeding through POS machines from the fair price shop level itself during the said period. Therefore, all the beneficiaries whose Aadhaar cards have not been seeded should ensure the seeding of all the beneficiary Aadhaar card numbers.

During this period, e-KYC of the left-out beneficiaries will also be done by the fair price shopkeeper from the POS machine in accordance with the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and the guidelines of the Government of India. All fair-priced shopkeepers will ensure that wheat is distributed to the beneficiaries only after ensuring seeding of the Aadhar card, LPG ID, and e-KYC of all the members of the eligible family of the National Food Security Scheme so that all NFSA beneficiaries can take advantage of the scheme.
