Pensioners of urban bodies of the state will also get dearness relief at the rate of 50 percent. This increase has been given like other pensioners from October 1, 2024. The dearness relief rate of pensioners receiving the sixth pay scale will be 239 percent.
With the instructions of the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Department of the state Kailash Vijayvargiya, Divisional Commissioner Bharat Yadav has issued orders to increase the dearness relief. Now the pensioners of urban bodies in the state will also get the same benefit in the rate of dearness relief as the pensioners of the state government. This order will apply to both basic pension and family pension.
An earlier announcement was made for state employee pensioners.
Over four lakh pensioners in Madhya Pradesh will receive dearness relief at a rate of 50 percent starting in October 2024. The state government has approved the proposal from the Chhattisgarh government. For pensioners under the sixth pay scale, the relief rate will be 239 percent. According to departmental officials, the Chhattisgarh government had requested an increase in dearness relief for pensioners, which has now been approved by the state government.
The Finance Department has issued an order to pay the arrears of dearness allowance to employees from January to October 2024 in four instalments. Employees will benefit from the increased dearness allowance with their October salary. However, due to Diwali, many employees received their pay early on October 28, so they will see this adjustment reflected in their November salary. Additionally, electricity distribution companies have also decided to grant a 50 percent dearness allowance to their employees.
