Venkatesh Iyer has been in excellent form in the fourth round of the Ranji Trophy, scoring a remarkable century while playing for Madhya Pradesh. In the MP vs Bihar match, which started on November 6, Madhya Pradesh won the toss and opted to bat first. By the end of the first day’s play, MP had posted a massive total of 381 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Venkatesh Iyer is currently at the crease, having scored 118 runs, while Shubham Sharma is unbeaten on 134.

Iyer came in to bat when Madhya Pradesh lost their fourth wicket at a score of 147. From that point, Iyer and Shubham took charge, attacking the Bihar bowlers. While Shubham Sharma has scored 134 runs off 182 balls, Venkatesh Iyer is batting at a strike rate of over 100, currently unbeaten on 118 runs from 113 balls. The partnership between the two has added 234 runs so far.

This century marks Venkatesh Iyer’s second in first-class cricket. His first century came last season in the Ranji Trophy, where he scored 135 runs against Pondicherry, helping Madhya Pradesh secure a huge 319-run victory.

KKR Released Him

All the participating ten teams released their retention lists on 31 October for IPL 2025. KKR retained 6 players, whose names are Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty, Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh. Venkatesh Iyer scored 370 runs including four half-centuries in 14 matches for KKR in IPL 2024. Despite this good performance, Iyer also expressed disappointment when Kolkata did not retain him.
