With IPL 2025 approaching, details about the very popular tournament are gradually becoming clearer. First, the player retention list was released, followed by the selection of the venue for the mega auction. Amidst all this, former Team India batsman Robin Uthappa expressed strong criticism of the Chennai Super Kings. Let’s explore what Uthappa had to say about Chennai and why.

This matter is related to the three-match Test series played recently between India and New Zealand. Kiwi young talented Rachin Ravindra had come to CSK Academy for the Test series, where he practised. Uthappa said that Chennai Super Kings should keep in mind that it is not right to help the players of the franchise before the country. He said that when it comes to the country, a line should be drawn with the players of the franchise.

Speaking on his YouTube channel regarding this matter, Uthappa said, “Rachin Ravindra came here and practised at the CSK academy. CSK is a great franchise that will always take care of its players but a line has to be drawn where the interest of the country comes before your franchise players, especially when he is a foreign player and plays against the country.”

Uthappa further said, “I am not surprised CSK always comes forward for its players but somewhere in that kindness, maybe I am not saying the right thing, I love CSK, but when it comes to the country, there should be a line somewhere where we do not cross that line.”

New Zealand faced a whitewash against India

In a rare and surprising outcome, Team India faced a 3-0 whitewash in a home Test series against New Zealand, marking the first time India has been defeated so decisively on home soil. The three-match series unfolded with India falling short in each game, despite their traditionally strong home advantage. This historic whitewash has undoubtedly raised questions, ignited discussions on India’s home-ground supremacy, and set the stage for future encounters between these two cricketing nations.
