The IPL 2024 mega auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ahead of the auction, several cricket legends are recommending top players for their favourite teams. Among them is AB de Villiers, who played 11 seasons for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He has prepared a list of his ideal players he’d like to see in the Bangalore squad. However, surprisingly, Mohammed Siraj’s name is missing from de Villiers’ list.

De Villiers Calls for a Blend of Experience and Youth in RCB

AB de Villiers was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise for 11 seasons and played an important role in making the team win many times. He said that the team currently has a huge amount of Rs 83 crore. Which can help them build a strong team. He advised Bangalore to make some big changes in their team and strengthen the team with a mix of experienced players with some fresh talent. ‘Mr 360’ of cricket believes this approach could make RCB a formidable squad.

Push for Yuzvendra Chahal’s Return

In his YouTube channel, de Villiers said that the franchise needs a world-class spinner in their lineup. Although RCB has experienced spinners like Pawan Negi and Karn Sharma, The African legend advocated bringing Yuzvendra Chahal back to the team. He says that Chahal’s return will give the team a strong spinning attack, which can prove to be challenging for the batters. He started to share his insights about Chahal, “We should bring Yuzvendra Chahal back; he belongs in Bangalore. The team feels incomplete without him,” de Villiers commented, expressing his hopes for a reunion with the skilled leg-spinner.

Focus on Ashwin, Rabada, and Bhuvneshwar for RCB’s Dream Lineup

AB de Villiers has recommended three additional players for Royal Challengers Bangalore to consider in the auction: Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. De Villiers believes Ashwin’s wealth of experience would not only boost the team’s bowling strength but also provide a handy batting option. “Ashwin’s experience can help us clinch more matches. Just imagine the power of an Ashwin-Chahal duo in the bowling lineup,” de Villiers commented.

De Villiers also emphasized the value of securing his former South African teammate, Kagiso Rabada. “We have to get Rabada. With Rabada, Chahal, and Ashwin, we’d have a winning bowling attack,” he remarked. Additionally, de Villiers highlighted Bhuvneshwar Kumar as another essential player for RCB, placing him high on his priority list for the auction.

Mohammed Siraj missing from the list

Interestingly, AB de Villiers did not mention Mohammed Siraj in this list. Siraj has performed brilliantly in the last few seasons, and not considering his selection may be surprising for some fans. De Villiers has also advised to focus on players like Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh instead of Siraj.
