For this, the central government approved Rs 1261 crore on Friday. Along with this, guidelines have also been issued for Namo Drone Didi operations. The scheme aims to provide drones to women self-help groups selected during 2024-25 to 2025-26, who will provide drone services for agriculture to farmers on rent. Liquid fertilizers and pesticides will be sprayed in the fields through drones. It is believed that the scheme will provide sustainable business and livelihood to self-help groups.

 

Namo Drone Didi Yojana

 

Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved the highly important scheme for our Indian farmers, named ‘Namo Drone Didi Scheme’. Under this scheme, 15,000 self-help groups will get an opportunity to get drones in the agriculture sector. This drone will be rented and will be used to spray fertilizers.

 

During 2023-24 and 2025-26, drones will be provided to women’s self-help groups under this ‘Namo Drone Didi Scheme’. Apart from this, honorariums will also be provided to women drone pilots, and training will also be given to women drone sakhis. This scheme of the Union Cabinet is an important step for the empowerment of women in the agriculture sector.

 

Yields will increase, and costs will decrease

 

Also, they will be able to earn additional income. This latest use in agriculture will increase the efficiency and yield of farmers. Costs will come down. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has urged the stakeholders for early implementation of the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ scheme.

 

Purchase of drones and other assistive equipment along with 80 percent of the overall cost, or a maximum of Rs 8 lakh, will be given as a package to women self-help groups as central assistance. The remaining amount can be taken by selected self-help groups as a loan from the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund at three percent interest.

The main objective of the Women Self Help Group Drone Scheme launched by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji is to help poor farmers use technology in farming to improve the efficiency of spraying drone fertilizers and pesticides.

 

After this, Indian farmers will also be able to rent it and do highly productive farming. The Mahila Sahayata Yojana will not only use the latest technology in agriculture, but it will also increase the income of Indian poor farmers. This scheme will also immensely help the small-medium-income farmers of the village to increase production and attain economic independence.
