After a long wait, Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the new Dzire in the Indian market, which has been brought at a very attractive price. The company has kept the starting ex-showroom price of the 2025 Dzire sedan at Rs 6.79 lakh. The company unveiled this value-for-money car last week, which has been given a 5-star rating for safety by Global NCAP.

Major changes have been made in its style and design, especially the face of the new generation Dzire has changed a lot. The company has launched it in 7 colours and 4 variants and claims that it will give mileage up to 33.73 km/kg. The vehicle’s robust design and strong safety features contributed to achieving the highest results in crash tests, including frontal, side and tail impact tests.

“The frontal impact test showed marginal protection of the chest of the driver dummy. The pole test showed full head protection and the side impact test showed full protection of adult passengers,” Global NCAP said.

How powerful is the engine

The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes with a 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine. It comes with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox which generates 80 bhp power and 112 Nm peak torque. Maruti Suzuki has also introduced this car in a CNG version in which the engine power is reduced to 68 bhp and 102 Nm. However, it also gives mileage of around 34 km/kg. Overall, the new engine is very economical and gives strong mileage as per the customers’ choice.

Comparison of the new Dzire with its predecessor

The current third-generation Dzire previously received two stars for adult and child occupant safety, and with its unsettled design and limited safety features, the new model has shown considerable improvement, especially in terms of coverage and child safety specifications, making it a safer option for families.

Safety and structural enhancements

The 2024 Dzire has advanced safety features as standard, including hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, rear defogger, and ISOFIX mounts. Made of 45% high-tensile steel, the Dzire is powered by Maruti’s latest fifth-generation Heartect platform. It has also undergone Global NCAP crash tests, including front, side and side tail protection.

Millage Details

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2024 offers impressive mileage figures, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers. The mileage varies depending on the variant and engine type:

  • Petrol Variant (Manual): Approximately 23.15 km/l
  • Petrol Variant (Automatic): Approximately 24.12 km/l

These figures are based on ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) testing standards, making it one of the most fuel-efficient sedans in its segment. The efficient fuel economy adds to the appeal of the Dzire, particularly for long-distance drivers and city commuters alike.
