India, a financially growing country, is now looking more promising than before. It is expected that the country has the potential to become a giant semiconductor manufacturer. The central government is also pushing hard to excel business growth in semiconductor production. Along with semiconductors, various other sectors are ready to bloom in India. That will allow a heavy number of job opportunities in the country. It is expected that 10 lakh job opportunities can be created by 2026.
From which sectors jobs can offer?
The demand is expected to be seen across categories, a report by talent solutions company NLB Services said. These include about three lakh jobs in chip semiconductor manufacturing, about two lakh jobs in ATMP (assembly, testing, marking and packaging) and additional positions in chip design, software development, system circuits and manufacturing supply chain management. Further, the report highlighted that there will be a demand for skilled workforce including engineers, operators, technicians and specialists in quality control, procurement and materials engineering, which is in line with India’s strategy to nurture a strong semiconductor talent by 2026. Apart from the government supporting the semiconductor industry, several private companies have expressed their intention to invest in building new semiconductor assembly and testing facilities in India.
The report is based on internal data analysis and industry reports. The move will bring about a significant revolution in India’s semiconductor sector, creating numerous employment opportunities in the high-tech and construction sector, it said. Vedanta Group, a major company in the semiconductor sector, has shown interest in setting up a display semiconductor manufacturing unit in India.
