The state government of Rajasthan has taken a positive step to provide better medical services for the senior citizens. The Rajasthan government takes the initiative under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). It is said that there is a provision to add one of the parents or in-laws of government employees to the scheme. In this year’s budget, it was announced to add in-laws, after which the Finance Department had also issued its orders. Though the reality is somehow different. Some alleged the medical services that were promised by the state.

The rule stated like this

As per RGHS rules, if both employees are state employees, both will be deducted from their salary. In return, the parents of both employees will be treated free of charge at RGHS. But the employees say that this facility is not being given to their parents.

Some media reports said…

As per some media reports, the Rajasthan government says that the parents of both the employees should be linked to the same Janadhar card, but it is not possible to add the names of the parents of both the employees to the same Janadhar card. There are thousands of such employees in the Rajasthan government who have been deprived of this facility for the last four years, while their salary is being deducted every month. The state government is collecting crores of rupees from them in the name of this scheme, but they are not getting the facility.

In this year’s budget, it was announced that in-laws would also be treated at RGHS, and the finance department had issued orders on September 20. But till now, the officials associated with the RGHS scheme have not followed this order. Government employee Pankaj Mittal says that on contacting the department, it is told that the software has not been updated, due to which this facility has not been implemented.
