Big news for government employees. Now the central government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of those central employees and employees of central autonomous bodies who are getting salaries according to the 6th and 5th Pay Commission. How much is the DA increased under the 6th Pay Commission?

 

The Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowance of the employees of central autonomous bodies from 239% to 246% under the 6th Pay Commission. This means that now the DA of employees under the 6th Pay Commission will be available on their basic salary at the rate of 246%. This new DA has come into effect from 1st July 2024.

 

How much salary will increase under the 6th Pay Commission?

 

DA is calculated on the basic salary of a government employee. For example, if the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 43,000 per month and he is getting salary according to the 6th Pay Commission, then earlier his DA was Rs 1,02,770 according to 239%. Now, at the rate of DA of 246%, his DA will increase to Rs 1,05,780.

 

How much has DA increased under the 5th Pay Commission?

 

Dearness allowance for employees receiving salary under the 5th Pay Commission has been increased from 443% to 455%. This means that the employees who are taking salary on the basis of 5th pay commission will now be given DA at the rate of 455%. This will also be considered effective from 1 July 2024.

 

Increase in DA under 7th Pay Commission

 

According to the 7th Pay Commission, the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for salaried central employees and pensioners have been increased from 50% to 53%. Its benefit has also come into effect from 1 July 2024. This new hike in DA of employees of 6th and 5th pay commission was awaited, which is now complete.
