Weather Update: After Kartik Purnima, a significant change is seen in the mood of the weather. The temperature is falling rapidly.
There is dense fog in the morning while the night temperature has started falling continuously. The capital, Delhi, and surrounding areas are completely engulfed in fog. Now people are wearing warm clothes during morning walks. Drivers are travelling on the roads with indicators on.
Cold has also started increasing in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana. On the other hand, if we talk about South India, there is a rainy period in many places. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert given rain in many states of the country.
According to IMD, this dreadful situation will likely continue for the next two to three days due to the lack of strong winds to remove pollution. However, it is expected that winds coming from the mountains can help remove the smog. Along with pollution concerns, IMD said cold weather has arrived in parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR.
snowfall Alert
According to IMD, a fresh western disturbance will likely persist until Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Due to this, bumper snowfall is expected on the higher mountains.
Rain and heavy snowfall are expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Also, snowfall and rain can be seen after the western disturbance disappears. There is a possibility of an increase in the cold in the plains by November 21. North and north-western winds are likely to blow at high speed.
Heavy rain Alert
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in these states, as well as thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. The phase of the north-eastern monsoon is likely to continue in these areas. Moderate rain can be seen in some regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
