There is information for central government employees who are retiring. They must now complete the online Form 6A in order to apply for pension.
The new regulation concerning the retirement procedure will take effect in the nation on November 6, 2024. Retiring employees can fill out the New Single Pension Form 6-A using either the Bhavishya or e-HRMS portal. Paper applications from retiring central government employees will no longer be considered. This data was provided in a notice released by the Pension and Pensioners Welfare Department within the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
Earlier, pension application forms could be filled on paper. But now the employees retiring from central government jobs will have to fill the online pension form for pension. This new rule is part of a major step to digitize government processes.
What is Pension Form 6-A?
Simplified Pension Form 6A has been prepared for the convenience of retiring employees. It has been prepared by combining Form 6, 8, 4, 3, A, Format 1, Format 9, FMA and Zero Option Form. For this, changes have been made in rules 53, 57, 58, 59, 60 of the CCS Pension Rules, 2021. The amendment has been notified after consultations with all stakeholders like Department of Expenditure, Department of Law and Justice, Controller General of Accounts, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Department of Personnel and Training.
For employees retiring from central government jobs, these pension forms 6A (simplified form for pension) are to be integrated on the ‘Bhavishya’ or e-HRMS portal. The Bhavishya portal is an initiative of the Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare Department. Under this, efforts are being made that the retiring government employees get all the outstanding payments and pension payment orders on the day of retirement itself.
According to the notification, the new pension form 6-A has been integrated on the Bhavishya and e-HRMS 2.0 portals and is to be available for the employees retiring from central government jobs from November 16 i.e. today. According to a notification issued on 4 November 2024, the new pension form for retiring employees was to be made available on the 6-A Bhavishya and e-HRMS 2.0 portals from 6 November.
