Nalkoop Yojana
Under this scheme, farmers are being given a subsidy of up to 80%. The Bihar Government Directorate of Horticulture, Agriculture Department, said in a post made on social media platform ‘X’, take advantage of modern resources for micro irrigation and makhana cultivation under the Nalkoop scheme.
Features of the scheme
The ‘Nalkoop Scheme’ provides for grants for private tubewells of 4-6 inches in diameter (15 to 70 meters in depth). There is a provision of subsidy according to horsepower for 2-5 HP submersible motor pumps/centrifugal motor pumps. A farmer will get the benefit of the scheme only once. The grant will be paid through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in two phases.
How much subsidy will be will get farmer’s
Under the scheme, up to 80% subsidy will be given to the general, backward/most backward class, and SC/ST farmers of the state. 50% subsidy will be given to general category farmers, 70% subsidy to backward or extremely backward class farmers, and 80% subsidy to SC/ST category farmers. Farmers can take advantage of this scheme to make irrigation facilities easier in their fields and reduce their costs.

The Bihar Government Small Water Resources Department said all farmers are informed that those whose Aadhaar is not seeded from their bank account (for DBT) should contact the bank immediately. Because Aadhaar seeding and Aadhaar linking to accounts are different things. Those whose bank account is not seeded with Aadhaar will not be paid.
