As we all know, Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, and the next year, in 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) was launched for the poor of the country. PM Awas Yojana Update

 

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), now the beneficiaries will also get the benefit of two other schemes. The government will now provide additional financial assistance of up to Rs 1.60 lakh to the poor to build pucca houses. The main objective of this scheme is to provide permanent housing to the poor and homeless people of India.

 

This scheme has been implemented by the central and state governments together in different states so that poor and middle-class people do not live in huts and can live a safe life in their own homes.

 

PM Awas Yojana Benefits

The benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana are given in two categories:

 

Rural areas: The poor get financial assistance ranging from Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.60 lakh to build a house.

 

Urban area: Interest subsidy is given in this scheme, in which interest subsidy of up to 6.5% is available.

 

Eligibility for PM Housing Scheme

 

The benefit of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme is given to those who do not have their own house. This scheme offers different benefits in rural and urban areas. The poor in rural areas get financial assistance to build houses, while EWS, LIG, and MIG families in urban areas get the benefit of interest subsidy.

 

Recent Updates in the Scheme

 

Recently, a new update has come under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which is for the residents of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, the benefit of this scheme was available only to those people whose monthly income was Rs 10,000, but now the Yogi government has decided to change the rules and give the benefit of the scheme to those whose monthly income is up to Rs 15,000.
