EPF… facility for employees working in organized sector institutions. When the employee changes jobs, usually the EPF account also changes, and the EPF contribution in the new company starts going to the new EPF account. Many times, if you change jobs, many PF accounts are made and money is deposited in all of them.

The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has provided the facility to member employees to transfer EPF money online, i.e., from one EPF account to another. Without going anywhere, the member employee sitting at home can transfer EPF money from one account to another. Let’s know its process, but first know what things will be needed for EPF transfer…

Do this first

1. The UAN, i.e., Universal Account Number, of the employee should be activated on the member portal https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ of EPFO.

2. The mobile number used to activate the UAN should also be active, as the OTP will come on this number.

3. The employee’s bank account number and Aadhaar number should be linked with his/her UAN.

4. The date of exit of the previous appointment should be in advance. If it’s not, update it first.

5. E-KYC should be approved by the employer in advance.

6. Only one transfer request will be granted for the previous member ID.

7. Before applying, verify and confirm all the personal information given inside the member profile.

8. Keep a soft copy of valid identity proof (PAN, Aadhaar, or driving license) ready.

Online PF Transfer Process

1. Go to the EPFO Unified Member Portal https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ and log in by entering the UAN and password.

2. After logging in, go to ‘Online Services’ and click on the option ‘One Member-One EPF Account (Transfer Request)’.

3. Verify personal information related to the current appointment and EPF account.

4. Then click on the Get Details option. You will see the PF account details of the previous appointment.

5. Choose between the previous employer and the current employer to attest the online claim form. Select it based on the availability of authorized signatory holding DSC.

6. Choose any of the two employers and give a member ID or UAN.

7. Finally, click on the ‘Get OTP’ option, which will bring the OTP to the registered mobile number in the UAN. Enter the OTP and click on the submit option.

This work has to be done within 10 days

The selected company or institution has to submit a self-attested copy of its online EPF transfer application in a PDF file within 10 days of submitting the online application for EPF (Employee’s Provident Fund) transfer. The company or institution digitally approves the EPF transfer request. After approval, the EPF is transferred to the new EPF account with the current company.
