State Bank of India’s customers are expressing dissatisfaction. In various instances throughout November, reports have surfaced of individuals discovering Rs 342 missing from their bank accounts. Based on the details provided, this amount is being taken out to pay for the premium of the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY). Bank clients have posted numerous screenshots of it on X, with SBI being mentioned. The bank has provided solutions to everyone’s queries regarding how their issue can be resolved.
Many individuals got notified on November 10th about Rs 342 being withdrawn from their bank balances. The message says, “We appreciate you signing up for PMJJBY through SBI Bank.” Although individuals did not agree to any form of nomination for this. As per a report by Moneylife India, an SBI employee, speaking anonymously, informed a customer that the bank receives a list of accounts from the government, and the premium for the PMJJBY scheme is deducted automatically.
As users on social media continued to file complaints and tag the bank, the bank quickly responded. The bank advised its customers to report any complaints promptly. To begin with, visit https://t.co/9ptr6xCV4c. Next, choose the Raise Complaint option and input your account number in Personal Segment/Individual Customer.
@TheOfficialSBI How can a bank enroll its customers in a scheme like PMJJBY without consent or even notifying? Money was deducted without any knowledge. Is this a scam? Is this how SBI achieves its targets? This is unethical and questions customer rights. Is our money safe? pic.twitter.com/RyBTvrHOBc
