Govt takes big decision
The government has taken this decision in view of the demand for housing in rural areas. At the time of approval of the scheme, only 6560 houses were approved in the years 2023–24. For the second time, 1759 houses were added; for the third time, 27160; and for the fourth time, 30234 houses were increased.
Now the total number of houses is 65713. Of these, 52540 houses have been completed. As many as 11,070 houses are yet to be constructed, while 1,584 houses are yet to be sanctioned. Only 97.64 percent of the houses have been approved. The construction work on 82.76 percent of houses has been completed.

Hundred percent of house construction work has been completed in 24 districts across the state. Hundred percent house construction has been completed in Katihar, Araria, Patna, Khagaria, Aurangabad, Kishanganj, Sitamarhi, Jehanabad, West Champaran, Sheikhpura, and Supaul.
100 percent construction work has also been completed in Kaimur, Lakhisarai, Banka, Sheohar, Saran, Darbhanga, Madhepura, East Champaran, Buxar, Jamui, Begusarai, and Madhubani. In Nalanda, 1484 houses, including 664, have not been approved yet; out of 65713, 1484 houses have not been approved in about one and a half years.

As many as 44 houses in Muzaffarpur, 49 in Gaya, 14 in Gopalganj, four in Purnia, 41 in Munger, 22 in Siwan, and 24 in Saharsa have not yet been approved. 18 houses in Arwal, 664 in Nalanda, 31 in Nawada, 325 in Samastipur, 18 in Bhojpur, 186 in Rohtas, 43 in Bhagalpur, and one in Vaishali have not been approved yet.
The highest number of houses in Muzaffarpur, Sheohar, and Gaya are incomplete (2,145), followed by Sheohar (866), Gaya (828), Saran (720), Gopalganj (613), Purnia (538), Munger (490), Siwan (409), and Darbhanga (423).
