All individuals aged 70 and older are eligible for free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, regardless of their economic situation. All senior citizens aged 70 years or older who qualify will receive a distinct Ayushman card under this program. To enroll in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, individuals aged 70 or older are required to possess an Aadhaar.

Enrolling and issuing Ayushman cards for eligible senior citizens require mandatory Aadhaar-based e-KYC. Senior citizens will be unable to obtain the card without it. Individuals who are 70 years old and older are eligible to receive treatment starting on the day they enroll. Coverage begins right away for any disease or treatment without any waiting period.

The only requirement for this unique program is that individuals must be 70 years old or older. Age is determined based on the birth date mentioned in the Aadhaar card, regardless of their economic situation. Aadhaar is the sole document needed for signing up for the Senior Citizen Scheme. All senior citizens who are 70 years old or older will receive their own individual Ayushman card.
